How I Built a Passive Income Stream Using Only AI Tools

What if AI handled the work while you slept?

Not a fantasy — this is what I've been building. A set of income streams where AI does most of the heavy lifting: creating content, writing copy, generating products, and promoting them. My job is to set it up and review what comes out.

Here's exactly what I'm doing and how you can replicate it.

The 3 Streams I'm Building

Stream 1: AI-Written Newsletter (Beehiiv)

A weekly newsletter about AI tools and productivity. The model is simple: publish consistently, grow subscribers, monetize through ads and affiliate links.

How it works

AI writes, I edit, Beehiiv sends

I brief ChatGPT on the week's AI news. It drafts the newsletter. I spend 20 minutes editing and adding my voice. Beehiiv handles delivery, analytics, and eventually ad revenue once I hit 1,000 subscribers. The Beehiiv ad network alone can generate $200–$500/month at scale.

The newsletter is live at aisparksweekly.beehiiv.com. Every new subscriber is a step toward monetization.

Stream 2: AI Prompt Packs (PromptBase & Gumroad)

People pay for good prompts. A well-crafted ChatGPT prompt that saves someone an hour of work is worth $5–$15. I create prompt packs around specific use cases — content calendars, email sequences, business planning — and sell them as digital products.

How it works

Create once, sell forever

I use AI to research what prompts people need most, then build and test a pack of 10–20 prompts. Upload to PromptBase (they handle discovery) and Gumroad (I own the customer). Zero inventory, zero shipping. Once it's listed, it sells passively.

Stream 3: Affiliate Programs (ElevenLabs, Surfer SEO)

This is the easiest stream to start. Recommend tools you already use, earn recurring commissions when people sign up.

How it works

22% recurring commission on every referral

ElevenLabs pays 22% recurring for every paying customer I refer. One person who signs up for their $22/month plan = $4.84/month recurring. Get 50 people and that's $242/month for work I did once. I promote through the newsletter, YouTube, and my tools page at ioneldigital.com/tools.

How to Start (This Week)

Step 1

Pick one stream and start

Don't try to do all three at once. Newsletter is the lowest barrier — start there. Sign up for Beehiiv (free), write your first issue with ChatGPT's help, and send it.

Step 2

Apply for one affiliate program

Go to ElevenLabs, Surfer SEO, or any AI tool you use daily. Apply for their affiliate program. Most approve within 48 hours. Add your link to everything you publish.

Step 3

Create one digital product

Pick a problem you've solved with AI prompts. Bundle the prompts into a pack. List it on PromptBase for $4.99. The first sale will feel incredible — and it'll push you to create more.

💡 The honest truth: none of these will make you rich overnight. But each stream compounds. A newsletter with 500 subscribers + one affiliate program + one Gumroad product can realistically generate $500–$1,000/month within 6 months of consistent effort. AI just makes the "consistent effort" part require a lot less time.
